Hello, my name is Jerrie Romanise!

Paris, 2017

Actually, my full name is Jacqueline Vivian Romanise, but my friends, family and colleagues calls me Jerrie (it’s reduction of my first name Jacqueline and my second name Romanise, like JA + RO, but because Jaro sounds really strange, everyone calls me Jerrie). In our family we have a tradition— grandparents decide, how’s child name is gonna be. So my grandpa Richard and grandma Clara named me in the honor of two greatest women — Jacqueline Kennedy and Vivien Leigh. Granddad knews Kennedy’s family and he often told me, that Jackie was a worthy, feminine and wise, so he’s really want to his eldest granddaughter was like her. And Vivien Leigh was the favorite actress of my grandmommy, so I think that you don’t need to explain, why she choose this name. I’m not an only child in our family — I have two brothers: the oldest and the youngest. Oldest name is Cary Franklin (Frank) Romanise and youngest name is Steven Edward (Stan) Romanise.

I was born in Minneapolis in 1993 in big, amicable and rich family. My granddaddy Richard Edward Romanise from father’s side was a politician from Democratic Party, and my grandma Clara Rose Romanise (father’s mother) was a dresser on set. Mama’s parents, granddad Joseph Gregory Collins and grandma Lilian Mary Collins works together on family business — they have corporation manufacturing machine parts. So my dad and mom was the best part to each other — both are from famous Minneapolis families, both are rich and both are so beautiful. But need to say, that it wasn’t an arrange marriage. My parents became a friends in college (they have friendship for 2 years), then started date each other and got married each other. My father’s name is Robert George (Bobby) Romanise and mother’s name is Monica Margaret (Maggie) Collins.

My mother is an only child in her family, but my father have younger brother— my uncle Joey Patrick (JP) Romanise. He is my godfather and he is my best friend from childhood. So many precious memories associated to him. He had been married for two times. He’s first marriage was unsuccessful — he’s divorced. But he has a daughter, Courtney Isabella (Kelly) Romanise, my cousin. Unfortunately, I don’t see her often. She lives in Washington and have a son (however, she is younger than me for 2 years). Second marriage of my uncle was great and he and his wife Patricia living together for twenty years! She gave birth to another two children — Cathlyn Clara (Coco) Romanise and Michael Kevin (Mickey) Romanise.

When I was 19 years old, my brother Frank moved on to New York, where he offered a job as a lawyer and I asked him to take me with him. Firstly he didn’t want to do it and all of my family weren’t excited of this idea, especially grandparents Romanise. But granny Clara was first who understand me. Moreover, she knew that I needed to study in college, so after many persuasions all members of my family gaved me permission to move on from Minneapolis. So like that, at the age of 19 I moved on to New York with Frank.

I went to The city college of New York on the Division of Humanities and the Arts. First time it was really hard: new city, no friends, but I’m really lucky person because I have my brother by my side. We made so much funny memories together! I still remember, how he taken me to the college to enroll and then we get lost in NY. Not just get lost, we even slept in the car because we can’t find the way to our apartments. Also I would never forget how he’s gave the wrong address to the pizza delivery guy and we waiting it for hours. Only living in New York I understand, that my family is the most precious thing that I ever have. And also I understand how I love my mother’s cook. No matter, where I eating, in McDonald’s or fashionable restaurant, it never compare to mother’s pasta, soups and meat. Home meal is my favorite dish.

Right out of College I found a job — I became a dresser on the set just like my Nana! Employer that went our college noticed that I have a great sense of style, so he gave me his number and I didn’t miss a chance. Now I work on the set for three years and I never seen so much talented and charismatic people! I keep in touch with all of my friends from college, but the closest friends I found on set. They are all creative people — actors, producers, managers. We can talk about everything and nothing all the time.

Now I’m 27 years old single girl. My serious relationship end up two years ago but I never worry about it — I have time to watch great movies, read books, and spend my time with friends. Also I would like to became an actress. Sometimes I plays a very little roles in the movies, but it would be great if I ever get a serious role. To make my dream come true, I attend acting school. Now all I do is only for myself and I plan to live like that a few more years. Maybe something change and I decide that at my thirty I need my own family, but maybe not. Anyway, I never be alone — if I don’t have children, I’m sure that I’ll have a many-many nephews and nieces which I can bring up and love as my own children. But really, I just want to go with the flow and enjoy everything that life gives to me.

Never stop dreaming!
xoxo, Jerrie
